In June 2007 Andrew and Sandy fulfilled a long held ambition to own and
run their own hotel, building the success of the hotel on Andrew’s
18 years in 4 and 5 Star Hotels around the country and Sandy’s natural
ability to cook tasty food and also his great customer care skills nurtured
while working as a butcher in his own shop and latterly for Safeway’s
Supermarket in Wick.
Andrew
Andrew has worked since 1989 after graduating from Queens College, Glasgow
with a degree in Hotel Management. He started his career in the Portland
Arms Hotel, Wick and then travelled to train in the 5 Star De Vere Grand,
Brighton and going on to manage hotels in Southampton, Brighton, Edinburgh
and London with De Vere, the Marriott Chain and Menzies Hotels. All of which
were either 4 or 5 star hotels.
Sandy
Sandy’s background has been in the Butcher trade working in the family
business from leaving school until moving to Safeway Supermarkets, managing
their butchery in Wick. After 26 years Sandy left to pursue his love of
cooking and worked in commercial kitchens in Wick and Edinburgh.
Vicky
Vicky started her career in hospitality at Hampshire County Cricket Club
going on to train as a Hotel Manager with De Vere hotels, in 1994 she moved
from operations into the organisation of events at De Vere's brand new 5
star hotel The Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton. She went onto specialise
in wedding organisation in 4 and 5 star properties working in the New Forest
and for Elite hotels in Ashdown Forest.
